Reminder: Members participating in the Artist of the Month competition must have their artwork logged in by 7PM.
The Jefferson Art Guild fosters continuing education and exposure to various art forms to its members through monthly 1-hour demonstrations. These demonstrations can be done by local artists, guest speakers or guild members. Demonstrators are compensated for their time.
Our past demonstrations have ranged from media techniques to artists sharing their experiences and even practical applications such as how to use Venmo or Paypal. Some of our demonstrations have included: an artists’ experiences with creating art abroad; the use of traditional art media such as acrylic, oil or watercolor paints; non-traditional media and techniques such as pan pastels, batik, Sumi-e painting, Gyotaku printmaking and chalk paints; topic presentations such as color mixing, drawing/painting the figure and how to create value sketches.
