Beth Hester
ELIZABETH DUBUISSON HESTER is an emerging Mandeville artist with deep ties to New Orleans. Elizabeth, known as Bethy to family and friends, grew up in Algiers, the child of two avid and skilled gardeners. Her parents instilled in her a love for all things growing. Her love of nature was fed by her travels with her husband, Keith. They travelled extensively throughout the United States in their camper. The mountains were a favorite destination. When Keith passed away in 2019, Beth turned to her life-long love of drawing to ease her grief.
Her love of gardens, flowers, nature and the outdoors informs her work as an artist. Bethy’s still lifes, landscapes and floral work are executed in a variety of media, including acrylic, pencils and watercolor. A nurse by training, her art reflects her empathy and gentle nature, a product of her years of experience caring for others. Her vibrant florals, soothing landscapes and New Orleans- influenced scenes are impressionistic and occasionally abstract. She paints what she feels.
Elizabeth is the mother of two children and the proud grandmother of her grandson, John.
