Carol Patai is a native of New Orleans and past President of the Jefferson Art Guild. She is a long-time, active member of the Metairie Art Guild, West Bank Art Guild, Louisiana Art and Artists and the New Orleans Art Association and has served as on the boards of these organizations in some capacity throughout the years. Her love of art started at the early age of 7 and continued through high school where she enjoyed art classes. But her passion for art blossomed in 2001 on a road trip to Destin where she was struck by the beauty, color and texture of the Florida Coast. Utilizing the easel and art supplies her husband had given her for Christmas, she embarked on this new career of professional artist.
While largely self-taught, Carol benefitted from instructions in various media with well known regional artists. As her art journey continues, Carol’s subjects are varied as her mediums which include oils, acrylics and watercolor. She competes successfully in many local art exhibits, winning numerous awards for her paintings. In addition to maintaining her status as a full time emerging professional artist, Carol gives tirelessly of her time, talent and organizational skills to help fellow artists by coordinating art exhibits which allows them the opportunity for exposure and the community at large the benefit of enjoying beautiful, original works by local artists at all levels.
